Opportunities for high education in Bulgaria :
Bulgaria has long standing traditions in providing good education in general. According to the Bulgarian Constitution and all International Conventions, the Right of education is one of the universal human rights.

For Bulgarians more important is not the text, but the spirit of this basic right - almost every young Bulgarian is in pursue of a higher and better education, almost every parent encourage his son or daughter to seek a better education as a guarantee for a better future.

First Bulgarian university has been founded more than 100 years ago in Sofia and later on its main faculties and its graduates served as a core for creation of many new universities in Plovdiv, Varna and Veliko Tarnovo, specialized academies - Medical Academy, Agrarian and Veterinarian Academy, Academy of fine arts as well as for practically all technical and economic institutes of higher education to name just some of them.

During the recent years Bulgarian universities have graduated generations of managers and public officers, doctors and engineers, diplomats and artists. The research and scientific potential of the Bulgarian Universities is the basis of national economy and has gained broad international recognition.

A sign of merit is the fact that during the recent years thousands and thousands of young people from different countries around the world came to study in the universities of Bulgaria. The higher education in Bulgaria is flourishing with many thousand Bulgarian and foreign students joining higher education every year.

The quality of education is a "trade mark" of all Bulgarian universities. For example diplomas from the Bulgarian Medical Academy and Medical Universities are recognized by WHO and authorities of many countries.

Education in Bulgaria provides also many opportunities for young people to travel to many places of interest in Bulgaria and in the neighboring countries, to exercise, to make friends or just to enjoy their stay in Bulgaria.

Except modern laboratories and classrooms, facilitated with state of the art equipment, all universities have libraries, sport facilities, dormitories and canteens in their campuses. Every foreign student could have a nice room on a twin share basis with all conveniences for very reasonable price.

While some of the universities has courses with English medium, designed specially for foreign students, most of the others may have not. But all foreigners have the chance to learn Bulgarian language at special courses organised by the Department for foreign students in Sofia University. For a period of six to nine months they will not only study Bulgarian language, but they could also receive some special training in some subjects, connected with their future education, for example mathematics and physics for the technical institutes and chemistry and biology for the Medical Universities.
